Sandustry Recipes & Production Flow Chart

Quick answer

Use this page as a route map: start with the output you need, then work backward through the machine and its inputs. Exact ratios are kept out until they are verified against the current Early Access build.

How to use this recipe guide

Sandustry is a physics-driven factory game, so a recipe is not only an ingredient list. A working line also needs a machine, a transport path, enough space for the output, and a way to handle byproducts. Use the tables below to identify the next machine, then open the linked guide for the practical layout.

These are production relationships, not guaranteed per-minute ratios. The current official Research page is still marked WIP, so this site does not invent a ratio where the Early Access data has not been independently verified.

A reliable early-game route

  1. Mine a manageable amount of Sand and keep the working area close to Water.
  2. Make Wet Sand and feed it to a Shaker rather than overfilling the factory floor.
  3. Unlock Logistics to move inputs and outputs with Conveyors and Launchers.
  4. Separate Gold and Residue before the byproduct pile blocks the Shaker.
  5. Add a Kinetic Press only after the Residue route is controlled; a slow, clean feed is better than a fast jam.
  6. Spend Gold on the Research unlock that removes your current manual bottleneck.

Troubleshooting the flow

The Shaker is not producing

Check that the input is Wet Sand, that the machine has room to output both Gold and Residue, and that a full downstream pile is not blocking the working area. If the issue is transport, see the production-chain guide and filter guide.

Burnt Residue is piling up at the Kinetic Press

Do not drop a large stockpile directly onto the press. Use a Filter to throttle the feed, leave a clear vertical drop path, and give Gold and Seed separate exits. The Kinetic Press guide covers the jam-resistant layout.

The line works once and then stops

Trace the first missing input rather than adding more machines. Check Water, heat, storage capacity, filter settings, and the space available for the output. A production chain is only as strong as its most blocked downstream step.
