How to Get Gold Fast in Sandustry: Best Farm and Automation Setup

What you need

• Wet Sand production and a clear vertical drop
• Two or more Shakers for consistent throughput
• A collection bin below the Shakers for Gold
• A separate route for Residue and later Slag processing

Best early-game gold setup

Start with one Shaker to confirm the material flow, then place additional Shakers one level lower in a diagonal staircase. Wet Sand is denser than Residue, so the incoming material helps push Residue toward the exit instead of leaving it on the machine.

Automation steps

1. Feed Wet Sand from above rather than dumping a large pile onto one Shaker.
2. Extend the Shaker line downward and leave a service lane for clearing trapped items.
3. Place Gold storage directly below the line.
4. Send Residue to a separate processing route; do not mix it back into the Wet Sand input.
5. Add Filters only after both outputs have a visible destination.

Common problems

Why is my gold farm slow?

Gold is a chance-based output, so volume matters. Increase the number of Shakers and keep the Wet Sand feed continuous before changing the layout.

Why did the setup stop?

Residue is usually covering the Shaker surface, or an unrelated item is trapped inside the machine. Clear the top surface and inspect the bottom collection path.

Scaling to mid game

Parallel diagonal lines are easier to expand than one very long line. Keep Gold collection centralized, but give each Residue line its own overflow space so one jam does not stop the entire factory.
